Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Meet the diagnostic criteria for chronic periodontitis; 2. Good compliance: Subjects wear orthodontic appliances >= 22 h/day, maintain good oral hygiene, and provide informed consent for the study protocol. 3. Angle’s Class II Division 1 malocclusion with mild-to-moderate anterior crowding. 4. Undergoing extraction-based orthodontic treatment, with extracted tooth positions: 14,24,34,44 or 14,24,35,45. 5. Healthy canines with: Intact cusps and minimal wear. Bilateral symmetry in rotation (0-20°), axial inclination(-5°to +5°), torque(0-10°), and vertical height(-1--1 mm). Normal palatal development, with complete and distinct palatal rugae and vault morphology. 6. Approved by the institutional ethics committee.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Systemic diseases related to periodontitis or temporomandibular joint disorders(TMD). 2. Pregnant and lactating women. 3. Cognitive or psychiatric disorders. 4. Refusal to participate in the study protocol.
