Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients who are to undergo elective abdominal surgery under general anaesthesia; and 2. Aged 65 years and above. 3. ASA classification I to III. 4. Expected postoperative hospital stay of at least 3 days. 5. Informed consent form has been signed.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. patients who lack the data needed to assess preoperative nutritional levels; and 2. patients with a history of drug or alcohol dependence; and 3. patients who plan to undergo a second surgery within 6 months of the initial surgery; and 4. Patients who plan to be admitted to the ICU after surgery. 5. Patients who are unable to cooperate (e.g., cognitive impairment, speech impairment, severe hearing or visual impairment) to complete the experiment.
