Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Based on clinical assessment and confirmation using the "Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI)", meeting the diagnostic criteria for depression according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), whether first onset or recurrent; 2. Males or females aged 18-60 years; 3. No antidepressant treatment for at least 3 weeks prior to enrollment; 4. Hamilton Depression Rating Scale 17-item (HDRS-17) score >= 17; 5. Voluntarily signed informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. According to DSM-5 criteria, participants who currently have or have previously been diagnosed with other types of mental disorders; 2. Those with severe or unstable organic diseases of the central nervous system; 3. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, or those planning to become pregnant in the near future; 4. Individuals with drug abuse/dependence within the past 6 months prior to enrollment; 5. Participants currently involved in other clinical studies, or cases where the investigator believes there are other circumstances making them unsuitable for this study.
