Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Must meet the diagnostic criteria for GDD as defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5); 2. Children with GDD must demonstrate scores below 75 in at least two domains on the GDS assessment, including the adaptive functioning domain related to cognitive development (which reflects cognitive functioning levels); 3. Be aged between 2 and 5 years, with no gender restrictions; 4. Obtain written informed consent from parents or guardians.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Children diagnosed with inherited metabolic disorders, chromosomal abnormalities, neurodegenerative diseases, or structural brain damage; 2. Meeting diagnostic criteria for ASD, ADHD, schizophrenia, etc., as outlined in DSM-5; 3. Presence of uncorrected severe hearing impairment (pure-tone audiometric thresholds > 70 dB) or visual impairment (corrected visual acuity < 0.3). 4. History of severe infection, cranial trauma, or major surgery within the preceding six months.
