Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: CLAI group (experimental group) : (1) Age of 18-50 years old; (2) a definite history of lateral ankle sprain (more than 12 months since the first sprain). (3) At least twice "soft leg hitting" in the past 6 months. (4) Cumberland Ankle Instability Tool (CLAIT) score <= 24. (5) Due to persistent symptoms and ineffective conservative treatment, modified Brostrom-Gould and other ligament repair operations were planned. (6) Relaxation or morphological abnormalities of the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) or calcaneofibular ligament (CFL) were confirmed by intraoperative exploration. Healthy group (control group) : (1) Amputation samples: the discarded fresh ankle tissues of patients who needed amputation due to other diseases or accidents were obtained through the inpatient department or emergency department.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) the presence of systemic inflammatory arthritis (such as rheumatoid arthritis). (2) ankle osteoarthritis (Van Dijk grade > 1). (3) history of ankle fracture or serious injury of other lower extremity joints. (4) nervous system diseases. (5) recent ankle hormone injection (within 3 months). (6) osteochondral injury of the talus.
