Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All subjects were right-leg dominant. 2. Subjects were alert and able to follow the instructions of the researchers. 3. Active Knee Extension Test (AKE): AKE angle > 15°. Subjects were placed in the supine position with the right lower limb fixed in 90° hip and knee flexion. The left lower limb was secured with a strap to maintain stability and reduce compensatory movements during measurement. Subjects were instructed to keep the ankle joint in a neutral position as much as possible. They were then asked to perform active knee extension starting from 90° hip and knee flexion. When the knee reached its maximum tolerable extension angle, the researcher measured the angle using a manual goniometer. The axis was positioned at the fibular head of the knee joint, with the stationary arm aligned parallel to the long axis of the femur and the moving arm parallel to the long axis of the fibula. The AKE angle was calculated as: 90° - (knee flexion angle at maximum knee extension).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. BMI between 18.0 kg/m² and 23.9 kg/m²; 2. Had received extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) within 3 months prior to screening; 3. Were currently taking or injecting medications that may affect study outcomes, such as muscle relaxants, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), anticoagulants, or botulinum toxin; 4. Presented with any of the following conditions: coagulation dysfunction, hamstring spasticity due to central nervous system lesions, hamstring spasticity caused by fractures/low back pain or other diseases, or skin lesions such as ulcers or open wounds.
