Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Aged 12–18 years; 2.All depressed patients must meet the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder and be independently confirmed by two psychiatrists holding the title of attending physician or higher; 3.Right-handed.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Severe physical diseases (e.g., epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, neurological disorders); 2.Patients with a psychiatric diagnosis other than major depressive disorder, or meeting the criteria for other mental disorders in DSM-5; 3.Presence of psychotic symptoms; suicidal behaviors, ideation, or plans; 4.History of substance abuse or dependence; 5.Prior treatment with MECT or rTMS; 6.Contraindications for MRI scanning.
