Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) The subjects should be aged 65 or above, and there is no restriction on gender. 2) The patients should meet the indications for cardiac surgery (cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass). 3) During the screening period, the patients' liver and kidney functions should be normal. 4) During the screening period, there should be no evidence of active infection in the patients. 5) During the screening period, the patients should be able to cooperate in answering the relevant questions of the MMSE and MoCA cognitive scales. 6) The patients should sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) The researchers believe that there may be situations among the subjects that could interfere with the research results. 2) Subjects with evidence of active liver disease (liver function test results: ALT or AST >= 2 times the upper limit of normal [ULN]) or who have had chronic active hepatitis B or hepatitis C within the past month. 3) Subjects with active systemic infections requiring the use of antibiotics within one week before the surgery. 4) Subjects with a lower MMSE score before the surgery (illiterate =30 kg/m^2); uncontrolled hypertension (defined as systolic blood pressure >= 180 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure >= 100 mmHg); history of organ transplantation, including cornea; having any clinically significant uncontrolled respiratory diseases, including but not limited to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma bronchiectasis or pleural effusion, etc.; having a previous diagnosis or suspected diagnosis of demyelinating diseases, including multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, etc.; any users of glucocorticoids or immunosuppressants; any diseases significantly affecting the nervous system. 6) Participating in other clinical trials.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Incidence of POCD during postoperative hospitalization (with the longest follow-up up to 7 days after surgery);

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Incidence of POCD at 1 month after surgery;Dynamic changes in the expression of peripheral blood protein markers;Changes in brain network characteristics of functional MRI;Performance indicators of the prediction model, such as sensitivity and specificity;Incidence of POCD at 6 month after surgery;
