Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Group (CA Group): (1) Age >= 18 years; (2) Experienced cardiac arrest within the hospital or outside the hospital and received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); (3) Successfully restored spontaneous circulation (ROSC) after CPR and survived for >=24 hours; (4) Received a head CT examination after ROSC (the first CT scan was included in the analysis); (5) Complete medical records, including: CPR-related records (such as arrest duration, initial rhythm, etc.); (6) Imaging data (including analyzable head CT images); (7) Neurological outcome assessment during hospitalization (such as GCS, CPC, etc.). Inclusion criteria for the Healthy Control Group (Control Group) (new): (1) Age >=18 years; (2) Received a health check-up at the hospital's health center from January 2015 to July 2025; (3) Matched with the CA group by age (± 3 years) and gender in a 1:1 ratio; (4) Complete medical records, including analyzable head CT plain scan images (DICOM format can be used for texture analysis); (5) No acute diseases at the time of the physical examination, stable vital signs; (6) Signed the consent for the use of physical examination data for research or approved by ethics committee with exemption of informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Group (CA Group): (1) Patients who failed to achieve ROSC after CPR; (2) Patients who died within 24 hours after ROSC, failed to undergo head CT or were unable to make a neurological prognosis assessment; (3) Patients who already had severe underlying brain diseases before CPR, such as extensive cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, etc.; neurological disorders such as epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, etc.; (4) Patients in a vegetative state or coma; (5) Patients with incomplete or severely limited quality of head CT images, which cannot be used for analysis; (6) Patients whose medical records lack key clinical variables, such as CPR time, imaging time, etc. Exclusion criteria for the Healthy Control Group (Control Group) (new): (1) Patients with previous or current major systemic diseases (such as malignant tumors, severe cardiac or renal insufficiency, severe arrhythmia, etc.); (2) Patients with a history of central nervous system diseases or neurological dysfunction (cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, cranial trauma, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, etc.); (3) Patients with metabolic/toxic brain diseases or systemic diseases that significantly affect brain imaging texture; (4) Patients with incomplete or poor-quality head CT images that cannot be analyzed; (5) Patients who cannot be age- and gender-matched with the corresponding CA cases; (6) Patients considered unsuitable for inclusion by the researchers.
