Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Implant placement performed in the posterior region at least 3 months after tooth extraction; 2. Presence of a buccal bone defect following implant placement, with the defect extent involving less than 50% of the implant length (classified as a Class 1/4 defect according to Terheyden’s classification) (Cordaro et al., 2019); 3. Patients who are systemically healthy or have stable systemic conditions and are able to tolerate routine oral implant surgery; 4. Patients enrolled between July 2020 and July 2023; 5. Age >= 18 years.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe systemic diseases (e.g., uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, immunodeficiency, etc.) 2. Long-term use of medications that may affect bone metabolism or healing (e.g., corticosteroids) 3. Heavy smoking (>10–20 cigarettes/day) or chronic alcohol abuse 4. Poor oral hygiene or uncontrolled periodontitis 5. Pregnancy or a history of head and neck radiotherapy
