Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion Criteria for the Esophageal Lesion Population Group (1) Age =18 years; (2) Patients who visit the thoracic surgery or gastroenterology departments of multiple centers, including Shao Yifu Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (lead center), and are clinically or radiologically suspected of having esophageal lesions and undergo gastroscopy; (3) Complete clinical information available (including age, gender, height, weight, smoking history, dietary habits, family history of tumors, esophageal cancer TNM clinical or pathological staging, presence of pulmonary infections and comorbidities, etc.); 2. Inclusion Criteria for the Physical Examination Population Group (1) Individuals undergoing physical examination, including gastroscopy, at multiple health check-up centers, including Shao Yifu Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (lead center); (2) No previous personal history of tumors, no major organ diseases, and no conditions affecting esophageal physiological function (such as Barrett's esophagus, esophageal ulcers, esophageal strictures, gastroesophageal reflux disease, etc.); (3) Gastroscopy showing no clinical signs of esophageal cancer or any esophageal lesions, with no clinical evidence for a diagnosis of esophageal malignancy; (4) Complete clinical information available (including age, gender, height, weight, smoking history, dietary habits, family history of tumors, presence of pulmonary infections and comorbidities, etc.).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with severe systemic diseases (including severe ischemic cardiomyopathy, malignant arrhythmias, difficult-to-control epilepsy, severe COPD, severe pulmonary infections, other malignancies, etc.); 2. Patients whose gastroscopic biopsy indicates benign esophageal tumors (such as esophageal leiomyoma, esophageal papilloma, etc.) or whose lesions are benign diseases (such as Barrett's esophagus, esophageal ulcers, esophageal strictures, gastroesophageal reflux disease, etc.); 3. Patients who have not undergone biopsy, have no pathological results, or have incomplete clinical data; 4. Vulnerable groups other than illiterate/elderly individuals, including patients with mental disorders, cognitive impairments, critically ill patients, pregnant women, etc.
