Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: 1. Male patients aged between 40 and 75 years old, including those aged 40 and 75 years old; 2. The lung function meets the diagnostic criteria for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and the relevant diagnostic and treatment standards in the Diagnosis and Treatment Guidelines for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (Revised in 2021). The FEV1/FVC of the lung function test is less than 0.70 (after the use of bronchodilators); 3. Having complete clinical data and examination results; 4. Smoking history of more than 10 years; 5. There was no acute exacerbation in the previous month; 6. Clear emphysema can be seen in chest CT images. Health control inclusion criteria: 1. Male, aged 40-75 years old; 2. Normal lung function, including those who are preparing for thoracic surgery due to pulmonary nodules or tumors, and those without chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. (Can not exclude) other respiratory diseases such as bronchial asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary tuberculosis, etc; 2. Patients who are unable to undergo pulmonary ventilation function tests; 3. A history of severe cardiovascular and hematopoietic system diseases, such as congestive heart failure, coronary heart disease, stroke, clinically significant arrhythmias, known aortic aneurysms, primary hypertension, and primary pulmonary hypertension; 4. Chronic kidney diseases such as concurrent glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, Ig-A nephropathy, and renal failure; 5. Merge severe digestive, endocrine, nervous, and immune system diseases; 6. Severe systemic diseases (difficult to control or poor recent prognosis) and mental abnormalities; 7. Merge tumors other than the lungs; 8. Congenital diseases such as hemophilia and hereditary spherocytosis; 9. Recently or currently undergoing treatment with oral or inhaled corticosteroids.
