Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Part I: Item Pool Construction (Qualitative Research) Eligibility Criteria for Epilepsy Patients: 1 Diagnosed with epilepsy meeting the 2014 International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) diagnostic criteria and the 2025 ILEA classification of epileptic seizures; 2 Age >= 18 years; 3Epilepsy duration >= 6 months; 4 Alert and conscious, voluntarily participating in this study. Healthcare Provider Inclusion Criteria: 1 Possession of a valid Chinese physician or nurse practice certificate with active clinical practice; 2 Neurology physicians holding associate senior or higher professional titles, nurses holding intermediate or higher professional titles; 3 >= 5 years of epilepsy-related work experience; 4 Ability to communicate fluently in Chinese; 5 Informed consent and voluntary participation in the study. Part II: Delphi Method Expert Consultation Expert Inclusion Criteria: 1 Bachelor's degree or higher with associate senior or higher professional title; 2 10+ years of experience in epilepsy diagnosis, treatment, nursing, or chronic disease management; 3 High motivation and commitment to this study, willing to accept and participate in the full consultation process. Epilepsy Patient Representative Inclusion Criteria: Same as the "Qualitative Research" section, excluding patients who participated in semi-structured interviews. Part III: Reliability and Validity Testing of the Epilepsy Patient Health Literacy Scale Epilepsy patient inclusion criteria are the same as the "Qualitative Research" section, excluding patients who have already participated in semi-structured interviews or the pre-survey.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Part I: Item Pool Construction (Qualitative Research) Epilepsy Patient Exclusion Criteria: 1 Those with concomitant neurological disorders, psychiatric conditions, or cognitive impairments; 2 Individuals with intellectual disabilities unable to comprehend questions; 3 Those with hearing or speech impairments unable to cooperate with the survey. Exclusion criteria for medical personnel: 1 Interns, residents, or trainees; 2 Those on medical or maternity leave. Part II: Delphi Method Expert Consultation Expert exclusion criteria: 1 Experts unable to return revised questionnaire responses on time for any reason; 2 Experts unable to continue participating in the study for any reason. Epilepsy Patient Representative Exclusion Criteria: Same as the "Qualitative Research" section, excluding patients who participated in semi-structured interviews. Part III: Reliability and Validity Testing of the Epilepsy Patient Health Literacy Scale Epilepsy patient exclusion criteria are the same as the "Qualitative Research" section, additionally excluding epilepsy patients who have already participated in semi-structured interviews or the pre-survey.
