Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for axSpA patients a) axSpA diagnostic criteria recommended by the International Society of Spondyloarthritis (ASAS) in 2009: Low back pain for 12 weeks or more and the age of onset is less than 45 years old 2) X-ray diagnosis of sacroiliitis with >=1 characteristic manifestation of SpA or HLA-B27 positive with >=2 characteristic manifestations of SpA The characteristic manifestations of SpA are as follows: inflammatory back pain, finger inflammation, arthritis, psoriasis, family history of SpA, positive HLA-B27, attachment point inflammation (heel), Crohn's disease or colitis, elevated CRP, uveitis, and good therapeutic effect on NSAIDs Inclusion criteria for healthy volunteers 1) No underlying diseases
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Any neuropsychiatric disorder 2) History of back/spinal injury 3) History of any spinal surgery 4) Prior hip fracture surgery or hip/knee arthroplasty 5) Scoliosis or spondylolisthesis 6) Systematic aerobic or resistance training activities 7) Any chronic disease associated with muscle loss (e.g., stroke, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, cancer, coronary heart disease, thyroid/parathyroid disorders, diabetes, congestive heart failure, fibromyalgia, COPD, liver failure) 8) Long-term corticosteroid use for inflammatory conditions 9) MRI contraindications (e.g., cardiac pacemaker, implanted metal objects, claustrophobia) or patient refusal to participate 10) Severe low back pain preventing prolonged MRI examination 11) Age < 18 years
