BMI >= 24kg/m^2 or waist circumference >= 90cm (male) and 85cm (female) or excessive body fat content and percentage.; 2. Fasting blood glucose >= 6.1mmol/L or 2-hour postprandial blood glucose >= 7.8mol/L or HbA1c >= 5.7% or T2DM history or steady-state insulin resistance index >= 2.5; 3. Fasting serum triglycerides >= 1.70 mmol/L or currently receiving lipid-lowering medication treatment; 4. The decrease in serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol is = 130/85mmHg or receiving antihypertensive medication treatment. Inclusion criteria for MAFLD cohort of pediatric patients: ultrasound imaging confirms hepatic steatosis and meets one of the following metabolic cardiovascular risk factors: 1. BMI >= 85th percentile for the same age/gender or waist circumference>95th percentile; 2. Fasting blood glucose >= 6.1 mmol/L or random blood glucose >= 11.1 mmol/L postprandial 2-hour blood glucose >= 7.8 mmol/L or HbA1c >= 5.7% or diagnosed with T2DM; 3. Blood pressure >= 95th percentile or 130/80mmHg (age= 130/85mmHg (age >= 13 years) or undergoing antihypertensive medication treatment; 4. Blood triglycerides >= 1.15 mmol/L (age= 1.70 mmol/L (age >= 10 years) or undergoing lipid-lowering medication treatment; 5. Blood high-density lipoprotein cholesterol decreases by <= 1.0 mmol/L or is treated with lipid-lowering drugs.
