traditional lecture group:trained investigators deliver the dietary education following the in-person lecture script
props-assisted lecture group:investigators deliver the dietary education following the in-person lecture script while incorporating food props
illustrated article group:participants in the illustrated article group read the illustrated health article on their mobile phones
video education group:participants in the video education group watch the educational video on their phones

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Diagnosis of gout or HUA, and their co-residing family member are invited to participate in this research; (2) Voluntary participation in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Having intellectual or cognitive impairments, or severe visual/hearing loss that prevents the use of communication devices; (2) Answering all items correctly on the pre-education knowledge questionnaire; (3) Withdrawing from the study.
