Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for the ADHD group: 1. Meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD as outlined in the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition) of the American Psychiatric Association (all subjects required to undergo the Mini-kid interview); 2. Aged 5 to 12 years; 3. Intelligence within the normal range, with a Full Scale Intelligence Quotient (FSIQ) of =80 as assessed by the Wechsler Intelligence Scale; 4. The parents or guardians of the child participants have been informed about the study protocol and have voluntarily provided written informed consent. Healthy control group: 1. Age 5-12 years; 2. IQ score = 80.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: ADHD group: 1. Individuals with hyperactivity symptoms secondary to conditions such as epilepsy, Tourette's syndrome, intellectual developmental delay/disorder, or other neuropsychiatric disorders; 2. Those with hearing or visual abnormalities; 3. Individuals with a past or current comorbid diagnosis of other psychiatric disorders, such as childhood schizophrenia, mood disorders, or autism spectrum disorder; 4. Individuals with conditions such as brain injury, severe physical illnesses, neurological abnormalities, or impaired consciousness; 5. Those with a history of using psychotropic medications. Healthy control group: 1. More than 4 items scored on attention deficit or hyperactivity-impulsivity on the ADHD symptom rating scale; 2. Hearing or vision abnormalities; 3. Past or current psychiatric disorders; 4. Serious physical illnesses, neurological abnormalities, or consciousness disorders; 5. History of psychiatric medication use.
