Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >>= 65 years 2. Diagnosed with sepsis upon ICU admission (meeting the Sepsis 3.0 diagnostic criteria)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Known congenital coagulation dysfunction 2. Presence of fulminant hepatitis, decompensated cirrhosis, or other severe liver diseases 3. Presence of primary hematological diseases 4. Coexisting conditions or medications that cause thrombocytopenia 5. Patients with major blood loss or active bleeding 6. End-stage patients 7. Use of the following medications: a. Heparin or heparin-like drugs administered within 24 hours prior to the study b. Warfarin administered within 7 days prior to the study c. New oral anticoagulants (including dabigatran, rivaroxaban, apixaban, etc.) administered within 3 days prior to the study d. Antiplatelet drugs administered within 7 days prior to the study e. Thrombolytic therapy administered within 3 days prior to the study f. Current use of Xuebijing or other traditional Chinese medicines that affect coagulation function
