Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Chronic Ankle Instability (CAI) Population (1) Unilateral ankle sprain; (2) History of at least two recurrent unilateral ankle sprains, with the most recent sprain occurring more than 3 months ago; (3) FAAM-ADL score <= 90%; (4) FAAM-Sport score <= 80%; (5) No prior formal rehabilitation treatment for the injured ankle; (6) Maintained physical activity of at least 90 minutes per week, three times per week, over the past 3 months. 2. Coping (Coper) Population (1) Unilateral ankle sprain; (2) History of at least one severe ankle sprain occurring more than 12 months ago, requiring external ankle support for at least 1 week, or immobilization and/or non-weight-bearing for at least 3 days; (3) Returned to moderate weight-bearing physical activity within the past 12 months without recurrent ankle injury; (4) FAAM-ADL score = 100%; (5) FAAM-Sport score = 100%; (6) Maintained physical activity of at least 90 minutes per week, three times per week, over the past 3 months. 3. Healthy Control Population (1) No history of ankle sprain; (2) FAAM-ADL score = 100%; (3) FAAM-Sport score = 100%; (4) Maintained physical activity of at least 90 minutes per week, three times per week, over the past 3 months.
