Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: AVH-SZ Group: 1.Meets DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia; 2.Age 18–65 years; 3.Right-handed; 4.Experienced AVH symptoms at least once daily during the past week; 5) PANSS item P3 score >=5 at baseline. nAVH-SZ Group: 1) Meets DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia; 2) Age 18–65 years; 3) Right-handed; 4) No history of AVH symptoms or none experienced in the past two years. Healthy Control Group Inclusion Criteria: 1) No prior diagnosis of mental illness and no family history of mental illness; 2) Age 18–65 years; 3) Right-handed.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient Exclusion Criteria: 1.Patients with severe physical illnesses, organic brain disorders, or history of traumatic brain injury; 2.History of psychoactive substance dependence or harmful substance use; 3.History of organic hearing impairment; 4.Patients with severe cognitive impairment or mental retardation; 5.Patients with concomitant psychiatric or neurological disorders; 6.Patients undergoing electroconvulsive therapy within 6 months prior to enrollment or at the time of enrollment; Healthy Control Group: 1.Patients with severe physical illnesses, organic brain disorders, or history of traumatic brain injury; 2.Patients with history of organic hearing damage.
