Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age >= 18 years 2.Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus 3.Signed informed consent form

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Exclusion of specific liver diseases known to cause fatty liver, including alcoholic liver disease, hepatitis C virus genotype 3 infection, autoimmune hepatitis, and Wilson’s disease. 2. Exclusion of special conditions associated with fatty liver, including drug-induced causes (e.g., tamoxifen, amiodarone, valproate sodium, methotrexate, glucocorticoids), total parenteral nutrition, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, hypothyroidism, Cushing’s syndrome, ß-lipoprotein deficiency, lipodystrophic diabetes, and Mauriac syndrome. 3. Exclusion of acute or chronic kidney disease and renal failure. 4. Exclusion of patients with prior cholecystectomy.
