18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Aged 18 to 65 years; 2.Meet the diagnostic criteria for Stage 1 or Stage 2 hypertension (no changes in types or dosages of medications within the past 3 months); 3.No regular exercise habits in the past 6 months (moderate-intensity exercise <90 minutes per week); 4.No prior experience with breathing training; 5.No lower limb functional impairments that would affect exercise capacity; 6.Willing and able to complete the exercise intervention.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Secondary hypertension; 2.Presence of severe cardiovascular disease (including any of the following: New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional class III–IV; history of myocardial infarction or revascularization; resting ECG indicating second-degree or higher atrioventricular block or malignant arrhythmia); 3.Contraindications to exercise (uncontrolled osteoarthritis; severe osteoporosis; history of lower limb fracture or surgery within the past 3 months); 4.Use of medications affecting blood pressure or heart rate variability (HRV) within the past month (such as corticosteroids; nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs); centrally acting antihypertensive drugs; antidepressants, etc.); 5.Pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant; 6.Presence of COPD, asthma, or other restrictive lung diseases (FEV1/FVC < 70%).
