18 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years and <= 75 years; 2. Preoperative ECOG performance status score of 0 or 1; 3. Preoperative ASA classification of I-III; 4. Gastric cancer patients: diagnosed with primary gastric cancer via endoscopic biopsy; preoperative clinical staging according to the 8th edition of the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual is T1-4a (cT1-4a), N0/+, M0; planned to undergo radical gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy; 5. Colorectal cancer patients: diagnosed with colorectal malignancy via endoscopic pathology and imaging (CT, MRI, or PET scan); confirmed as adenocarcinoma; suitable for surgical treatment; stage I-III; 6. No distant metastasis detected on preoperative evaluation, and no direct invasion of the pancreas, spleen, or adjacent organs; 7. Willing to participate in this study and has signed the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant or lactating women; 2. Severe psychiatric disorders; 3. History of prior upper abdominal surgery (excluding laparoscopic cholecystectomy); 4. Gastric cancer patients: prior gastric surgery; or multiple primary gastric cancers; 5. Colorectal cancer patients: concurrent inflammatory bowel disease; multiple primary colorectal malignancies; hereditary colorectal cancer (e.g., familial adenomatous polyposis [FAP], Lynch syndrome); 6. Preoperative imaging reveals fused regional lymphadenopathy with maximum diameter >= 3 cm; 7. History of other malignancies within the past five years; 8. Unstable angina or myocardial infarction within the past six months; 9. Cerebrovascular event within the past six months; 10. Systemic corticosteroid use within the past month; 11. Requirement for concomitant surgery for other diseases; 12. Emergency surgery required due to complications (hemorrhage, obstruction, or perforation); 13. Forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) less than 50% of predicted value.
