Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 18–45 years; 2. Preoperative CBCT showing the mandibular third molar adjacent to the mandibular canal, with CBCT follow-up data available at preoperative, immediate postoperative, and 6-month postoperative time points; 3. Patients with QST examination data for the affected surgical site at preoperative, 1 day postoperative, 1 week postoperative, and 1 month postoperative time points.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Localized lesions in the surgical area, such as periapical lesions and cystic lesions; 2. Patients with concomitant metabolic disorders or neurological conditions; or those taking medications affecting neurological function during the trial period; 3. Preoperative sensory abnormalities in the lower lip or tongue; 4. Patients with chronic periodontitis in the mandibular second molar on the same side as the surgical area; 5. Factors affecting postoperative tissue healing and prognosis evaluation, such as: - Significant source teeth or lesions in the maxillofacial region prone to causing pain or swelling; - Long-term use of medications affecting bone regeneration (e.g., corticosteroids, bisphosphonates); - History of head and neck radiotherapy; 6. Cognitive impairment preventing understanding and cooperation with study requirements.
