Experimental group: Patients take one capsule of live AKK PROBIO bacteria orally per day, with each capsule containing 1×10^10 live bacteria and using maltodextrin as the excipient, for a total durati
Control group:Patients take one capsule orally per day containing an equal amount of maltodextrin without Akkermansia bacteria, for a total duration of 8 weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Have been undergoing maintenance hemodialysis three times per week for at least 3 months; 2 Diagnosed with sarcopenia; 3 Aged 18 years or older; 4 Voluntarily signed the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Contraindications for bioelectrical impedance analysis, such as the presence of implanted metal devices or electronic medical devices; 2 History of digestive system diseases,?? including active inflammatory bowel disease, liver cirrhosis, gastrointestinal tumors, major gastrointestinal hemorrhage or perforation within the preceding three months, or short bowel syndrome; 3 Use of dietary supplements (e.g., omega-3 fatty acids, probiotics, prebiotics, phytosterols/stanols) within one month prior to the study; or use of medications such as antibiotics, glucocorticoids, immunosuppressants, laxatives, or intestinal adsorbents within one month prior to the study; 4 Significant changes in diet within one week prior to the study; 5 History of alcohol abuse; 6 Presence of severe complications,?? such as hematological diseases, malignant tumors, or acute heart failure within the past 3 months.
