Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Age >= 18 years; (2) American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status classification of 2 or 3; (3) Underwent elective laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy; (4) Preoperative or postoperative paraspinal nerve block.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) long-term use of analgesic medications prior to surgery; (2) incomplete or missing key data in the medical records; (3) conversion from laparoscopic to open surgery; (4) postoperative admission to the intensive care unit.

The total consumption of all opioid analgesics within the first 24 hours after surgery;

the time to first press of the patient-controlled intravenous analgesia postoperatively;the proportion of patients requiring rescue analgesia within 24 hours;the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting within 24 hours;the time to first ambulation;the total postoperative hospital stay;
