Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >=18 years; 2. ICU hospitalization duration >= 24 hours; 3. Occurrence of AKI after cardiac surgery; 4. >= 2 lactate measurements during ICU stay (within 72 hours postoperatively).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Readmitted patients (only the first admission was considered); 2. End-stage renal disease (requiring maintenance dialysis or kidney transplantation); 3. Missing survival data.
