Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion Criteria for the Prospective Observational Study: (1) Age > 18 years; (2) Obese patients with BMI >= 30 kg/m^2 in the weight loss clinic, or healthy volunteers with BMI 18 years and = 30 kg/m^2; (3) Diagnosis of ARDS (according to the Berlin Criteria) with anticipated invasive mechanical ventilation duration >= 24 hours; (4) Signed informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Age 85 years; 2.Pregnancy; 3.Presence of contraindications for EIT examination: unstable spinal fractures, implanted cardiac pacemakers or automated cardioverter defibrillators, local skin infections or open wounds in the EIT belt area, etc.; 4.Terminal stage of disease.
