Study Group (Sputum culture q8h):Sputum culture should be sent for testing every 8 hours.
Control Group (one sputum culture):Single sputum culture

18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age >=18 years and <80 years. 2.Meeting the diagnostic criteria for severe hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP). 3.Patients who have undergone invasive mechanical ventilation. 4.Informed consent obtained by a legal representative.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Exclusion of mechanically ventilated patients with non-hospital-acquired pulmonary infections. 2.Intensive Care Unit (ICU) length of stay less than 2 days. 3.Cases without authorization or failing to meet ethical review standards for research. 4.For patients with multiple hospitalizations during the study period, only data from the first ICU admission were included for analysis, with subsequent admissions excluded.
