Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years old; 2. Elective cardiovascular Surgery via median sternotomy. 3.Complete clinical data from the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods was obtained.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. History of prior open cardiac surgery; 2. Preoperative severe hypoproteinemia, anemia, malignancy, hypothyroidism, or systemic infection that cannot be corrected; 3. Intraoperative placement of a thoracic drainage tube; 4. Patients requiring re-intubation; 5. Death within 3 days postoperatively; 6. Preexisting severe hepatic or renal dysfunction (long-term dialysis or Child-Pugh class C); 7. Postoperative pleural effusion due to surgical injury, such as chylothorax or progressive hemothorax; 8. Incomplete clinical data that cannot be traced.
