Interventions

Control group:Traditional lifestyle intervention: It consists of health education in the early stage of diabetes and lifestyle intervention guided by nutritionists.
Treatment group:Comprehensive approach of traditional lifestyle intervention combined with 50% white meat to replace red meat

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Male or female, aged 40–75 years; 2. BMI >= 23 kg/m^2; 3. Meet the diagnostic criteria for prediabetes: HbA1c >= 5.7% and = 6.1 mmol/L and = 7.8 mmol/L and = 75 g; 5. Voluntarily sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant or breastfeeding; 2. Body mass index (BMI) > 35 kg/m^2; 3. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, special types of diabetes, or a history of iron metabolism disorders; 4. Suffering from severe psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, etc.; 5. Suffering from other serious conditions, such as severe dyspepsia, cirrhosis, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic kidney disease, cancer, symptomatic coronary artery disease, or infectious diseases; 6. Grade 3 hypertension (systolic blood pressure >= 180 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure >= 110 mmHg); 7. Presence of eating disorders, such as bulimia nervosa or anorexia nervosa; 8. Undergone surgery within the past 3 months or still in the postoperative recovery phase; 9. Used any glucose-lowering interventions or iron supplements (including medications or dietary supplements) within the past 3 months; 10. Taken medications other than antidiabetic drugs within the past 3 months that are known to potentially affect glucose tolerance; 11. Diagnosed with iron deficiency or iron deficiency anemia; 12. Lost more than 5 kg in the past 6 months, currently losing weight, or planning to lose weight through other means, such as bariatric surgery; 13. Low acceptance of white meat, or inability to comply with the trial protocol, such as replacing red meat with white meat; 14. Currently participating in another clinical trial.
