Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1)Aged 6 months to 18 years, inclusive of both boundaries, regardless of gender. (2)Hospitalized in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Shanghai Children's Medical Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, between October 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, presenting with clinical symptoms of cough and diagnosed with acute upper respiratory tract infection, lower respiratory tract infection (e.g., bronchiolitis, acute bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia), or an acute exacerbation of bronchial asthma. (3)Capable of cooperating with the cough sound collection procedure and the use of the sleep mat throughout the entire night. (4)Provision of informed consent for participation in this study. Informed consent must be obtained from the legal guardian(s) for all pediatric subjects, with additional assent required from children aged 8 years and older.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1)Presence of chronic underlying diseases, including but not limited to chronic lung disease, congenital heart disease, chronic liver or kidney disease, neuromuscular disease, inborn errors of metabolism, chromosomal or genetic abnormalities, congenital airway malformations. (2)Laryngeal or vocal cord diseases that affect cough sound production. (3)Patients receiving non-invasive ventilation or high-flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy. (4)Individuals deemed by the investigator(s) to be unsuitable for participation in this clinical trial.
