Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Case Group: 1. Meeting the diagnostic criteria for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) as per the DSM-5 diagnostic interview; 2. Both the subject and their guardian agree to participate in the study and provide written informed consent. Control Group: 1. Not meeting the diagnostic criteria for any psychiatric disorder in the DSM-5; 2. Both the subject and their guardian agree to participate in the study and provide written informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Case Group Exclusion Criteria: 1. Meeting the diagnostic criteria for any other psychiatric disorder listed in the DSM-5, such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia; 2. A history of severe neurological disorders or substance abuse; 3. A history of severe dysfunction of vital organs (e.g., heart, lungs) or infectious diseases. Control Group Exclusion Criteria: A history of psychiatric disorders, severe physical illnesses, head trauma, or neurological diseases.
