Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Meets the diagnostic criteria for depression according to the 10th edition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10); 2. Has not used paroxetine for treatment within the past 2 weeks; 3. Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD-24) score >= 21 points; 4. Liver and kidney function, blood routine, and urine routine test results are within the normal range; 5. Age 18–65, any gender; 6. Education level >= 9 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with other serious physical illnesses; 2. Laboratory test results are significantly abnormal; 3. Pregnant women or individuals infected with human immunodeficiency virus; 4. Patients with a serious suicidal tendency; 5. Those who have participated in other psychiatric drug clinical trials within the past 4 weeks; 6. Individuals allergic to paroxetine or the components of Sanwei Sandalwood capsules.
