18 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age between 18 and 80 years old, 2. Median sternotomy with direct cardiac visualization surgery, 3. No history of chronic pain, 4. Preoperative pulmonary function test showing forced vital capacity (FVC) >70% predicted value and forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) >60% predicted value. 5. Normal cognitive function and no communication difficulties, able to actively and cooperatively participate in rehabilitation therapy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with skin diseases, allergy history, and injuries 2. Patients with severe postoperative complications including respiratory, hepatic, renal, neurological complications, hemodynamic instability, severe arrhythmia, secondary surgery, perioperative myocardial infarction, various types of embolism, motor dysfunction or severe cognitive impairment 3. Patients who are unable to cooperate with the researchers.
