Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Experimental group: 1. adult patients (age >= 18 years) with no growth potential; 2. clear diagnosis of malocclusion; 3. the experimental group had a clear history of previous orthodontic treatment, no history of orthognathic surgery, and required a second orthodontic treatment due to poor treatment results (e.g., unimproved protrusion, unimproved deep overdenture deep coverage, lingual inclination of the anterior teeth, incomplete closure of extraction gaps, and poor arch morphology, etc.). The control group received orthodontic treatment for the first time. 4. complete and clear imaging; Control group: 1. adult patients (age >= 18 years) with no growth potential. 2. Clear diagnosis of malocclusion, matched to the experimental group. 3. first orthodontic treatment. 5. complete and clear CBCT imaging.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Congenital maxillofacial deformity, severe facial asymmetry, cleft lip and palate, active periodontal disease or severe root resorption exist before treatment. 2. Suffering from systemic diseases affecting bone metabolism or taking related drugs for a long time. 3. Treatment plan involves orthognathic surgery. 4. There are extensive restorations or implants in the dentition.
