Interventions

Intervention Group:A 4-session group-based ACT intervention with 1-hour duration per session will be delivered in face-to-face mode to participants. A trained registered nurse who has received 21 hour
Control Group:The control group participants will not receive any ACT intervention but usual social support (e.g. meals delivery service) from NGO.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 60 or above, 2. Can understand Cantonese and follow instructions; 3. Community-dwelling; 4. Scoring 2 or above in the self-reported 6-item De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Suffering psychological illness; 2. Currently on psychological treatment; 3. Cognitive impaired; 4. Visual or hearing impaired with speech difficulties causing the inability to attend the programme in person.
