Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Aged >=16 years; 2.Mongolian; 3.Skeletal Class III (ANB angle -3.6 mm); 4.Anterior crossbite or edge-to-edge position; 5.Permanent dentition, mandibular premolars, and first molars exist; 6.Using fixed orthodontic techniques to complete pre-surgical orthodontic treatment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.History of previous orthodontic treatment involving tooth extraction or orthognathic surgery; 2.Diagnosis of progressive periodontitis or pre-treatment alveolar bone loss exceeding one-third of the root length; 3.Crowding exceeding 3 mm in the posterior segments; 4.Mandibular premolars or first molar with crown or large area filling; 5.Furcation involvement in mandibular premolars or first molars; 6.Syndrome related to craniofacial development such as cleft lip and palate or other systemic diseases.
