Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Age >= 18 years old; (2) The score of aspiration risk assessment scale for adult ICU patients was >= 37; (3) Receiving mechanical ventilation for >= 48 hours; (4) informed consent of patients or family members.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Aspiration and/or ventilator-associated pneumonia had occurred before intubation; (2) Implement prone position ventilation; (3) The time of tracheal intubation was unknown; (4) Patients with esophageal varices, esophageal lesions or (and) obstruction, and esophageal stenosis.
