Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Students aged between 12 and 17, enrolled in middle schools in the Greater Bay Area; 2. Voluntary participation with a commitment to completing the 14-18 week light volleyball course; 3. Possession of the basic physical fitness required for stable participation in physical education courses (with no serious physical conditions affecting exercise); 4. No prior formal volleyball training or course experience (including participation in school team training, off-campus volleyball classes, or school-offered specialized volleyball courses); 5. Agreement from the participating schools to provide teaching venues and course time support, with teachers willingly cooperating in the research implementation; 6. Signed informed consent forms from both students and their guardians.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Students whose age is not within the 12-17 age range; 2. Students unable to commit to participating in the full 14-18 week light volleyball course (e.g., due to prolonged medical leave or a high likelihood of transferring schools); 3. Students with poor physical health, lacking the basic physical fitness required for participation in physical education courses (e.g., suffering from severe cardiopulmonary diseases, musculoskeletal disorders, etc.); 4. Students with prior formal volleyball training or course experience (including participation in school team training, off-campus volleyball classes, or school-offered specialized volleyball courses); 5. Students or their guardians who refuse to sign the informed consent form; 6. Schools or teachers participating in the study who are unable to cooperate with the research process (e.g., unable to provide a fixed teaching venue or unable to implement teaching according to the planned scheme).
