Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. 18 to 80 years old; 2. Visited the emergency ward or ICU of our hospital during the research period; 3.According to the Emergency Treatment Guidelines for Sepsis/Septic Shock in China (2018), sepsis patients are diagnosed with the following specific indicators: (1) Evidence of infection or suspected infection; (2) Sepsis related Sequential Organ Failure Score (SOFA) increases by >= 2 points from baseline; 4. Intending to undergo monitoring of endoplasmic reticulum stress markers; 5. Sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, stroke, peripheral arterial disease, familial hypercholesterolemia, type III hyperlipidemia, and nephrotic syndrome; 2. The patient has severe arrhythmia (such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, high degree atrioventricular block, etc.); 3. Merge other endocrine related diseases (such as adrenal gland, gonad, parathyroid gland and other organ diseases), malignant tumors, rheumatic and immune diseases, etc; 4. Severe liver and kidney insufficiency combined;5. Mental illness, drug abuse, and alcoholism; 6. Severe immune dysfunction/deficiency; 7. Other situations that researchers consider unsuitable for participation in the study
