Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged 3 to 12 years old; meeting surgical indications and undergoing elective surgery; parents of the children have normal abilities to read, write and speak Chinese; voluntary participation by the children or their parents.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children who have been diagnosed with developmental delay or mood anxiety disorders; children who have been administered sedative drugs before surgery; children living in non-Chinese language and cultural backgrounds; children who were in a sleep state during the preoperative monitoring period.
