18 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 18 years; 2. Endotracheal intubation or tracheostomy for >= 24 hours; 3. Successful passage of a spontaneous breathing trial (SBT); 4. Ability to cooperate with grip strength and ultrasound examinations; 5. Signed informed consent form obtained from the subject or their legally authorized representative.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Pregnancy; 2. Massive pleural effusion, pneumothorax, or subdiaphragmatic infection; 3. Diaphragmatic paralysis; 4. Inability to obtain adequate ultrasound views of the chest or abdomen due to surgery or trauma; 5. Endotracheal intubation retained for >=21 days without a tracheostomy; 6. Patients for whom a decision to withdraw life-sustaining therapy has been made.
