Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age >= 60 years, planned for major orthopedic surgery (such as knee replacement, hip replacement, spinal fusion, etc.); 2. Preoperative calf circumference, muscle strength, skeletal muscle mass, and psoas muscle CT-related indicators are normal; 3. Voluntarily sign the informed consent form.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Vital signs are unstable; 2. Complicated by malignant tumors and chronic diseases affecting muscle metabolism (such as rheumatoid arthritis, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, malnutrition, etc.); 3. Mental health-related conditions (such as depression, etc.); 4. Long-term use of hormones or drugs related to sarcopenia treatment (such as SARMs); 5. Complications affecting muscle strength assessment that occur post-surgery (such as infections, thrombosis, etc.).
