Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.The participants' age range was from 20 to 60 years; 2.An elective procedure of open reduction and internal fixation was conducted for the ankle fracture; 3.American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA)status were grade I - II.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Coagulation dysfunction; 2. Neuropathy; 3. Local anesthetic allergy; 4. Serious heart and lung disease; 5. Systemic steroid use; 6. Before operation, the liver and kidney are not in the normal range, complicated with severe respiratory dysfunction (type I or type II respiratory failure); 7. Pregnancy; 8. Severe obesity (BMI 35kg/m2); 9. A history of drug and alcohol abuse (alcoholism is defined as drinking more than 14 units of alcohol per week - 1 unit of alcohol =360 mL beer or 45 ml spirits with 40% alcohol or 150 mL wine); 10. Previous long-term use of opioid or non-opioid analgesics; Preexisting underlying pain (chronic pain).
