Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients or healthy individuals who completed HbA1c testing at the Endocrinology and Diabetes Department outpatient clinic of The First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Conditions affecting erythrocyte survival: hemolytic anemia, significant blood loss, splenomegaly, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic liver disease; along with medical history of splenectomy, aplastic anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency, and renal impairment. 2. Patients on long-term supplementation of vitamin C, vitamin E, or acetylsalicylate. 3. Chronic alcohol abuse; 4. Pregnant women; 5. Severe jaundice or hyperlipidemia;
