Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Epilepsy group: Children aged 6 to 14 years diagnosed with Rolandic epilepsy according to the 2017 ILAE classification of seizures and epileptic syndromes. Control group: 1. No history of neurological or psychiatric disorders; 2. Normal findings on routine cranial MRI; 3. Matched for gender, age, and level of education with the epilepsy group; 4. No contraindications to MRI scanning; 5. Written informed consent obtained from guardians, and participants are cooperative during examinations.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Epilepsy group: 1. Coexisting neurological or psychiatric disorders; 2. History of long-term corticosteroid use; 3. MRI artifacts; 4. Head motion with translation exceeding 3 mm or rotation exceeding 3°; 5. Organic lesions identified on cranial MRI. Control group: 1. Children clinically diagnosed with precocious puberty, idiopathic short stature, or those receiving hormone therapy; 2. Head motion with translation exceeding 3 mm or rotation exceeding 3°; 3. MRI artifacts.
