Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with acute femoral vein or popliteal vein thrombosis who have not reported thrombus formation during continuous outpatient visits, confirmed by ultrasound within 72 hours after the onset of symptoms, or who present with chronic DVT in a follow-up ultrasound within 3 months after a first unexplained DVT event; 2. Participants aged >= 18 years with lower limb DVT; 3. Patients with complete data; 4. Participants who have provided proper informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Isolated distal DVT; 2. History of multiple past DVTs; 3. Technical limitations of ultrasound examination (mental disability, quadriplegia, or mobility issues); 4. Major symptoms of pulmonary embolism; 5. Age < 18 years; 6. Pregnant; 7. Life expectancy < 3 months; 8. No DVT or DVT < 2 mm at 3 months follow-up. Exclusion criteria for healthy control group: 1. History of past DVT; 2. Age < 18 years; 3. Pregnant women.
