Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Cross-sectional study Inclusion criteria: (1) Permanent dentition; (2) No orthodontic treatment received; (3) Complete upper dental arch; (4) Complete CBCT images without interference from artifacts affecting the root and alveolar bone structure. 2. Longitudinal study Inclusion criteria: (1) Permanent dentition; (2) Patients undergoing the first/second premolar extraction protocol for initial orthodontic treatment; (3) Completed full fixed orthodontic treatment with a treatment duration of more than 18 months; (4) Complete CBCT images before and after treatment, without interference from artifacts affecting the root and alveolar bone structure; (5) Using the German Fanfeng self-ligating bracket system (0.022-inch grooves, preset torque: maxillary incisors - 2°).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Cross-sectional study Exclusion criteria: (1) Absent or incomplete eruption of the maxillary incisors; (2) Severe rotation of the maxillary incisors (greater than 45°); (3) Severely curved roots of the maxillary incisors; (4) Cleft lip or palate or systemic diseases (diabetes, osteoporosis); (5) Pregnant women; (6) Patients with severe periodontal disease. 2. Longitudinal study Exclusion criteria: The same as the cross-sectional stage.
