Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with a clear pathological diagnosis of adenocarcinoma; 2. Preoperative colon CT or rectal MRI confirms that the tumor is located at the rectosigmoid junction and below (including the rectosigmoid junction, rectum, and anal canal); 3. Patients undergo radical surgical resection.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Previous bladder resection or partial resection surgery, prostate surgery in men; 2. History of urethral injury, history of cranial or spinal surgery; 3. Unable to urinate through the urethra preoperatively for various reasons (such as ureteral puncture or ureterostomy); 4. Neurogenic bladder, history of urinary retention or urinary dysfunction, and diabetic bladder disease; 5. Combined resection of other pelvic organs (uterus, bladder, but excluding simple adnexectomy in women); 6. Lateral lymph node dissection of the rectum; 7. Intraoperative secondary injury to the ureter, bladder, or urethra; 8. Presence of renal insufficiency preoperatively (serum creatinine level above 133µmol/L); 9. Hyperplasia of prostate in male patients preoperatively with oral medication treatment; 10. Presence of ureteral stents or ureteral strictures, hydronephrosis in both kidneys.
